About the Role

Pindara Private Hospital has a great opportunity for an experienced nurse to work in a dual position of Clinical Nurse/Clinical Nurse Educator in our Cardiac Medical Ward.

This direct dual leadership role will see you leading and supporting our front-line team members and reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager.  You will be joining a team of passionate professionals driven to provide safe, holistic nursing care to each individual patient to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Provide education to staff and support on going professional development and upskilling staff.

This role will involve, but is not limited to:

  • Acting as a professional resource an demonstrating broad knowledge in all facets of caring for patients to ensure the highest level of nursing care
  • Supervising and supporting all staff with the unit
  • Delegation of patient care as appropriate with skill mix and delivering direct patient care
  • Support the NUM in completing assessments, appraisals, audits and other tasks that keep the facility up to date with the Australian Standards of Care.
  • Work with staff to maintain up to date knowledge and best practice in cardiac and nursing practices
  • Be confident and willing to liaise with medical practitioners and develop good working relationships with the wider hospital community
  • Engage and produce education sessions / learning activities and assessments to assess competency of staff members.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Current registration with AHPA
  • Minimum 3 years post graduate experience in cardiac nursing
  • Current knowledge of ECG interpretation/analysis is essential
  • Highly desirable experience in nursing education and teaching
  • A passion for mentoring junior team members and positively influencing their performance
  • Already obtained or working towards post graduate qualifications on critical care / cardiovascular nursing will be highly regarded,

Remuneration: On offer is a base hourly rate ranging from $54.72 - $58.82 + superannuation based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties or allowances. (QLD Clinical Nurse/Midwife Level 2 gr1-gr4).

 Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
