What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and ensure compliance with hospital accreditation standards, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Drive initiatives to enhance patient safety and maintain high-quality clinical outcomes across all services.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory, legal, and operational standards.
- Manage and supervise practical aspects of care delivery, including bed management, patient flow strategies, patient demand forecasting, and workforce management.
- Implement systematic workforce planning and support the professional development of the clinical workforce to meet organisational goals.
- Support growth initiatives, business development, and respond to needs identified by the Executive team and Ramsay Health Care.
- Liaise with the visiting medical officer (VMO) community to ensure the delivery of the highest quality clinical care.
- Plan and maintain hospital and departmental budgets, ensuring budgetary requirements are met in collaboration with other executive team members.
- Assess workplace culture and implement strategies to support findings, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

- Function as a proficient clinical operator with a solid understanding of the private hospital legislative landscape.
- Demonstrate sound resource management skills to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of all clinical departments.
- Possess an understanding of the performance levers driving quality business outcomes and have experience in applying quality improvement processes.
- Demonstrate a passion for the success and development of people, coupled with expert communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit knowledge and understanding of clinical governance and patient safety.
- Proven experience and expertise in theatre management or high-performing theatres is highly desirable.
- Strong focus on continuous improvement with the ability to lead and drive change initiatives effectively.
- Knowledge or experience in the private health sector, coupled with a commercial mindset and a strong understanding of the current challenges facing private healthcare.
Essential Qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Post-graduate clinical qualifications.
