What you will be doing in this role
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will report to the Nuclear Medicine and PET & CT Section Manager, and work alongside a supportive and dedicated team of highly skilled clinical colleagues.
We have a large, 24-hour, state-of-the-art Radiology & Nuclear Medicine facility where we deliver over 90,000 medical imaging investigations annually. You will be responsible for producing the highest quality imaging for patients using the latest imaging equipment and technology, including two brand new Gamma cameras.
The role allows you to work across our Nuclear Medicine Department, Theranostics suite and in The Robert & Jeanne Szeto PET-CT Centre using the state-of-the-art GE Omni Legend PET-CT scanner and 2 new gamma cameras. You will be working with a team of dedicated Nuclear Medicine Technologists, nursing and clerical teams in areas patient care, hot lab and imaging to provide the high quality of service that the San is renowned for.
This role is for 2 days minimum per week and availability on Fridays is essential.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Performing high quality nuclear medicine examinations including PET/CT for our patients and referrers.
- Delivering patient centred healthcare with emphasis on tailoring your approach to individual patients.
- Maintaining a safe and productive workplace with a strong focus on adherence to all radiation safety principles.
Who we’re looking for
- You’ll have a tertiary qualification in medical imaging technology (Nuclear Medicine), a current AHPRA registration and an EPA licence, including condition IA16D (Diagnostic CT for Diagnostic CT for Nuclear Medicine Technologists).
- You’ll be motivated and enthusiastic with a passion for Nuclear Medicine and including PET-CT and Theranostic procedures.
- You will be committed to the advancement of techniques and technology to maintain our standing as a leader in the field of Nuclear Medicine.
- You’ll have exceptional interpersonal skills enabling you to considerately and professionally communicate with patients, their families, visitors and colleagues.
