About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurses to join our dynamic and friendly Intensive Care Unit.

Westmead Private Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a 16-bed specialized facility providing advanced critical care to patients recovering from major surgeries, complex medical conditions, and life-threatening illnesses. With a strong focus on cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, the ICU is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and life-support systems to manage patients with complex cardiovascular, respiratory, and neurological needs.

The unit is staffed by a dedicated team of intensivists, nurses, and allied health professionals who deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. Managing a diverse caseload, including post-operative patients from various surgical specialties, those requiring invasive monitoring, and individuals with critical airway or cardiovascular support, the ICU emphasizes safety, efficiency, and multidisciplinary collaboration. Westmead Private Hospital ICU is committed to achieving optimal patient outcomes while providing a compassionate and supportive environment for families.

 

Your Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
  • Strong clinical skills in managing complex, critically ill patients, including ventilated patients and those requiring invasive monitoring.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Desirable criteria:

ALS (Advanced Life Support) certification.

Requirements

  • Must provide a National Police Check conducted within the previous 12 months
