Are you looking for a surgical career and wanting to build expertise and relationships with surgeons? Are you looking for a flexible source of income? We are seeking enthusiastic, appropriately-trained surgical assistants for our after-hours on-call roster. There will also be scope to book in-hours shifts in due course.

Essential criteria:

  • PGY 2+
  • Current registration with AHPRA
  • Must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or have rights to work in Australia
  • Recent experience in surgical assisting
  • Sound knowledge of the requirements of a surgical assistant including maintaining aseptic technique and use of common surgical equipment such as retractor, haemostats, scissors, and suction.

Desirable criteria:

  • Demonstrated interest in surgery through previous surgical assisting or surgical training program experience.

Requirements:

You will be given the opportunity to provide required documentation as you progress through the recruitment process: 

  • Evidence of at least two doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine 
  • A National Police check conducted within the previous 3 years 
  • Depending on the position, a paid Working with Children Check and/or proof of immunity against infectious diseases
  • Willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required
  • At least two current work-related referees
  • Have rights to work permanently in Australia
